Peak Performance Pillars

Peak Performance Pillars

We all know about how important Performance training is! What you may not know is performance training and rehabilitation are just the groundwork for reaching your peak performance. We have developed five pillars that, by implementing them into your life, will help you to reach your peak performance goals. The five pillars are Nutrition, Hydration, Sleep, Recovery, and Mental Edge. All of these pillars play a key role in you achieving your goals.

It all starts with a good foundation. That good foundation is Sports Performance and Rehabilitation. This will build your base - an athletic body. The physical base that is built is meant to create a strong, powerful athlete that can move safely and efficiently, but that’s not enough. As an athlete, it will take more than that to reach your peak performance. You need all of the pillars.

Nutrition is the fuel that will enable your body to change, grow, and develop.  A well-developed nutrition program will help you reach your goals because multiple aspects of your life are beginning to align with your goals. On the other hand, a poor nutrition plan is impossible to outwork.

Hydration is a key element in keeping your body working properly. Without proper hydration your body will not be able to function at its top ability. Even mild dehydration will impair your body’s ability to perform.

The next pillar is free: sleep. Sleep is one of the best ways to help develop and repair your body. The increase in ability that you get from sleep will be more than physical; you will also see positive impacts on your mental abilities. Likewise, a lack of sleep will have a negative impact on both your physical and mental capabilities, and even increases your risk for injury.

Recovery will help you repair and rebuild the muscles, tendons, ligaments, and other structures that have been beat up and torn down from training. Recovery is imperative for increasing your abilities on a session-to-session, and season-to-season basis.

Having a Mental Edge will give you an advantage over others that has nothing to do with the physical realm. This mental edge will take time to develop and will create the ability to overcome tough times in life and in sports. It will mean “bouncing back,” “getting your head in the game,” and “leaving it all on the field” in a way that no one else can.

All of these aspects of Peak Performance – Sports Performance & Rehabilitation, Nutrition, Hydration, Sleep, Recovery, and Mental Edge – require time, effort and dedication on your part. Performing at your highest level depends on it.
